Also contains a copy, 1831, of Sir George Thomas Napier's account of the death of Sir John Moore after the battle of Coruna in 1809 and a letter, 1846, to Henry Edward Napier from Ichabod Charles Wright concerning Wright's translations of Dante and Napier's Florentine history (London: 1846-1847).

Richard Howe, Earl Howe, was born in London, England, on March 19, 1726, the son of Emanuel Scrope Howe (1699-1735) and Mary Sophia Charlotte von Kielmansegg (1703-1782).
